3...2...1...launch

Oh man, can you FEEL it?? The excitement? The BUZZ?! We've been posting about it on Facebook and Instagram for the past few weeks, and now here we are, less than one day away from launching our online Etsy shop. Now it's really crunch time! This has been no walk in the park, let me tell you! Between working a professional full time job, being a mom to our energetic and very curious *almost* two year old, and trying to keep our house and home in one piece, all of the behind the scenes efforts for starting this small business and our online shop have been challenging. But a challenge well worth the hard work and reallllly late nights. I absolutely love working with reclaimed and recycled wood, and I fall in love with [nearly] every one of my jewelry pieces. There are certainly a few disappointments along the way, but they end up being re-sanded and thrown into the "redo" pile. I see potential in every piece.

But making the pieces are just the first step. There's the product photography, the model shots, the editing, the write ups, the shipping prep, the marketing, the events and shows, the classes (I devoured all the info I learned in my Etsy workshop and Becoming Boss event and look forward to more!), and the research and development. And by that I mean reaching out to my friends, my family, my role models and mentors and the resources all around me. THIS is a step that will never end, nor should it. We all learn from each other in this world, and I hope to someday be able to bestow my learned wisdom (or at least my learned failures) on to others looking to start up their own small business. It's a tough world out there. If we're not open to learning from those who've succeeded and failed doing it themselves, we might as well throw in the towel before our feet ever get off the ground. So, I embrace it and open myself up to absorb all that an experienced small business owner is willing to share with me. This is how I learn.

The Etsy shop opens tomorrow, but the hard work isn't over. Nope, not even CLOSE. And I'm ready. I've essentially been working two full time jobs for the past year, and I'm ready to continue to see this project thrive. If you have any questions about anything we're making, shoot us a message.
